Getting ready to hike the PCT (Pacific Coast Trail) in July of 2017. I will be leaving from Canada going southbound (SOBO) and then ending at the bottom of Oregon or the top of California, not sure just yet. I have almost all of my equipment except the ice axe and some other mountaineering gear I may need. It will be tough, It will be cold, I will try hard and do the best I can do. There is a ton to research like "Ice axe arrest" and "Bears" and "scorpions and rattlesnakes in the desert". I cannot be afraid of nature, I can only have respect for her and the outside elements as well. It will be a trip of a lifetime. A good time to contemplate about life and what the second half of my life will look like. It will be a time of wonder and a chance to thank the creator for all of the beauty I will see. I do not know what to expect as the trail will decide for me when I am on that path. I do want to face my fears and know who I am. I like to push my limits and see what I can do and what I cannot do. Thanks you for following me. It is nice to know that people share the same love of the outdoors.
A journey about my life and camping. Follow me as I Hike, Camp, Fish, and live life to the fullest. I believe in adventure and going out into the wild. We have to take the time to opt outside, to explore, to see the world, life is too short, we have to get out there and live it. Will there be danger..yes, will it be fun...yes. Come Follow Me!

TRYING OUT EQUIPMENT!
It is time to try out the equipment, and what better way than to trek in your own backyard. I love to walk around and see just how the pack moves with me. I want to check my boots to see how they feel in the snow. I do not have my food or water packed but I do have everything else packed. It feels pretty good so far. I know I have a year to plan but I want to get myself in shape and gain the experience.

What tent to hike with on the PCT?
This is the tent I finally decided on for hiking the PCT in July 2017. I thought about it and googled every tent imaginable and came up with this one. Why? Well, it is super lite about 2lbs 3 oz. It has a lot of head room, I like that it has a left side zip as opposed to others where the zip is at your head. I also am going to be getting a new sleeping bag with a left zip. Big Agnes makes really cool stuff and very strong and sturdy. I even like the color "Orange" which is the color of Courage. I'll need me some of that being out in the wilderness outside my comfort zone. What a fun trip this will be.

Camping in WInter
Couple of girlfriends were camping at Swiftwater RV Park in White Bird Idaho. They asked me to come and camp. You only have to ask me once. You all know I love to camp weather or not it is Winter, Spring, Summer or Fall. I just love it. I love to cook, I love to watch a river or stream, I love to fish. I just like being outside. I used to be an "inside girl" but not anymore. There is just something about this planet with all of the green and the blue water. It is so fun to just travel around and see things. Today I went snow shoeing with my Dog, it was fun , plus it is great exercise. It is much better than laying around. I do work. I am an Artist so I can paint anytime at home. But if I had it my way, I would camp camp camp. Hope you all get a chance to get out and do some camping soon.

Fall Camping
Yep, It's fall alright and here are a few tips about camping out in the colder weather. You will need to store some warmer clothes inside your camper. I have a down sweater by Patagonia. I also have a great pair of gloves from Cabelas. I always wear another layer of clothing that I can take off. Carry gloves with you at all times. Keep extra food inside your trailer and your car. Make sure you have a flashlight in your car and trailer too. I keep oatmeal handy just in case I am in a hurry. Be very careful lighting candles in your trailer, never leave them un-attended. Sure, they smell nice but make sure they are visible and away from the curtains. I like to camp all year long so warmth is important. I sleep with a heated mattress pad on my bed, it is always warm when I get inside. I only use my heater in the morning when I fist wake up. I always have lighter fluid and paper in case I need to start a fire, I make toilet paper rolls with lint inside to start my fire, and then add kindling to that. I usually save the lighter fluid for the BBQ but I have been known to use it once in a while.
